Founded in 1852 by Benjamin
Mason, B Mason & Sons Ltd. started casting and rolling
non ferrous metal at Aston Manor Rolling Mills, Birmingham,
UK.
In 1915 Aston Manor Rolling Mills were registered as a limited
company, B Mason & Sons Ltd and new money was invested by the Company's share
purchasers. Initially, only brass was produced, but in the period 1970-80 (with
the introduction of continuous casting in 1968/9) phosphor bronze alloys and
nickel silver alloys were introduced.
In 1988 Mason was purchased by Wieland-Werke
AG, Germany,
the leading independent European manufacturer of non-ferrous semi finished products. |
